SewWhatever

SewWhateverHello Ladies! There was a great turnout last Wednesday. We met some new, wonderful ladies. Our fashion show was so much fun! We had the disco ball going so it looked all sparkly. And of course, we had to have a spotlight on our absolute gorgeous models as they walked down the catwalk! One of our ladies won by shaking her hips and showing a little leg! LOL! So she won our ” Most Wiggle & Style” award. She even had jewelry to match! We could not believe how much jewelry we had there. Lot’s of beautiful stuff! It was so fun!
Oh, and our dinner was amazing! The best ever! We had cute little PB & J sandwiches provided by Smuckers. They were so yummy! Thank you all for coming.
This week is “Open Sew”. If you haven’t finished some of your projects from our Wednesday nights, or if you have a project that isn’t finished at home, or if you need help with something or just want to come sew and have fun, then come this Wednesday and let’s get it done.
For Basic Sew 101 with Richard, you’ll be making shorts. We saw some fun pj’s last time. I was hoping Richard would have his pj’s done for the fashion show (I wanted to surprise you all with it at the end of the fashion show), but he’s been really busy and wasn’t able to get it done. We’ll get him next time!
Take this opportunity to learn how to sew so you can make whatever your heart desires!

Shorts Supply List

Pattern: McCall’s 8934 (or an elastic waist shorts pattern with pockets)
This pattern is a unisex pull on boxer style shorts pattern that comes in three lengths. They are loose fitting and have a mock fly front. Each pattern has only one size, so purchase the size you need. They are sized by hip size, so if you’re not sure of your size, measure your hip at the fullest part.

You will need to purchase the amount of fabric called for according to the size and length you are planning to make.
You will also need 2 1/2 yards of 1/2″ elastic and matching thread.
Bring basic sewing supplies (sewing machine, pins, scissors, etc.)

There are a lot of fun novelty fabrics available, and these shorts would be fun in a novelty fabric.
