Bernina Version 6.0 Software Review

Posted by Richard Borget On June - 28 - 2009

I was so excited to finally get my hands on the New Bernina Version 6.0 Embroidery Software
This software is a must have upgrade for all Bernina Version 4.0 or 5.0 Users, and a great add-on for any
Embroidery Machine owner.   There are many compelling features in this software.   My favorite New feature of
Bernina Version 6.0 has to be the addition of CorelDraw Essentials 4 as a Integrated part of
Bernina Version 6.0.

What’s Up at BERNINA?

Posted by admin On June - 24 - 2009
Greetings!

Hello Ladies!! I’ve survived girls camp! It was so much fun.  BUT very cold and wet!  Now I’m sick.   That’s ok, though.  I heard we had a great turnout last week.  Because we did, I want to have a show ‘n’ tell tomorrow during our “Open Sew.”  So bring your beach bag, machine cover, or a finished project to share (please 1 or 2 items),  AND if you didn’t get to finish your bag or machine cover, come tomorrow and we’ll help you finish it.  Those that bring their show ‘n’ tell get entered into a drawing, so don’t forget.  Remember, “Open Sew”  is to help you finish your unfinished projects.  You can bring anything that needs to be finished whether you need help or not, so come and let’s have fun.  I love to see what people are working on.

Also ladies, we have been asked many times if we teach beginning sewing.  Well, we are going to.  Come learn how to Sew Basic 101 with Richard (one of the owners) tomorrow night.  We will be teaching it during “Open Sew” upstairs.  It’s part of our SewWhatever club, so the cost is still $8.  Everyone is welcome.  Anyone under age 12 needs a parent to come also. We will be making pj bottoms.  If you have a serger, you can bring it and use that instead of your sewing machine.

Please let us know if you need to reserve a machine.  If you want to try to make the pj’s with a serger, we have a couple that you can use.
Don’t forget to R.S.V.P. so we have enough food for dinner.

Thanks, Maudie

Bernina Activa 210 Review

Posted by Richard Borget On June - 20 - 2009

The Bernina Activa 210 is a great entry level machine. Frequently I have customers who ask for a machine with no bells and whistles, if that is your wish then the Bernina Activa 210 is the machine for you. This machine sports the Bernina quality expected from any bernina without the extra frills. This machine has only 11 stitches and a few basic attachments to do the basic necessities. For most customers I would recommend jumping up at least to the Bernina Activa 220 for the relatively small difference in price. Overall the Bernina Activa 210 is a great choice for quality and simplicity and delivers the quality you would expect from a Bernina.

Bernina Activa 230PE Review

Posted by Richard Borget On June - 19 - 2009

Bernina Activa 230PEThe Bernina Activa 230PE is a great entry level sewing and quilting machine. The Activa 230 is the most common machine used in our local schools and has been extremely reliable. The 230 has proven to have a great mix of features for the price. This machine includes great accessories including the 1/4 inch foot and the free hand quilting foot and my favorite the automatic buttonhole foot, after you do one buttonhole the machine remembers the size after the first one. This machine is an excellent choice for a beginning sewer or for the advanced sewing machine user or quilter. This machine also is a smaller size and lighter weight so it’s easy to take to classes.

If you have questions about the Bernina Activa 230PE please call us at (801) 374-5520.
